How to Get the GDAL RDA Driver

This tutorial provides the steps for getting the GDAL RDA driver.

Version Info

The Raster Data Access (RDA) driver will be available in GDAL 2.3.0 and above. Since this version of GDAL has not been released yet, we cannot provide warranties or guarantees for the pre-release version. The pre-release version is used in this tutorial.

1. public docker with pre-release GDAL 2.3.0 and GBDXtools

 docker pull tdgp/rda-gdal230-prerelease
 docker run -it tdgp/rda-gdal230-prerelease /bin/bash
 ```

#2. public custom RPM build
This is the rpm used in the docker creation.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/repo.idaho.geobigdata.io/native/linux/gdal-2.3.0--python.x86_64.rpm


#3. build GDAL from source
 
 You need to include the curl build option for the RDA driver. 
  Follow the published gdal build information: https://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/BuildHints


#4. Anaconda

 RDA driver not available until Anaconda distributes GDAL 2.3.0

#5. brew

 RDA driver not available until GDAL 2.3.0 is released
