Deprecation Notice: GBDX Notebooks

Deprecation Announcement

GBDX Notebooks has been deprecated and will be retired on February 1, 2021. After that date, you will no longer have access to the GBDX Notebooks application or the notebooks you’ve created.

To retain copies of your notebooks, create an archive and download it to your local machine before February 1, 2021. We recommend taking this step as soon as possible.

You can continue to use GBDXTools in a notebooks environment by cloning the Notebooks Starter Kit from our GitHub repository. The starter kit includes a virtual environment with GBDXTools and Jupyter Labs. Example notebooks are also included.

Next Steps

1. Archive your notebooks and download a local copy

To retain your notebooks, create an archive and download it to your local drive before February 1, 2021.

Note: We recommend you remove unneeded notebooks and other files from your directories before creating your archive to reduce the size.

archive instructions

Once you set up the Notebooks starter kit template you’ll be able to upload your archive to it.

2. Set up the Notebooks Starter Kit

The Notebooks Starter Kit lets you continue to work with GBDXTools in a local Jupyter environment. You’ll need a [GitHub account](link to GitHub home page) to access the starter kit.

The Notebooks Starter Kit includes a virtual environment with GBDXTools and Jupyter Labs, and a set of example notebooks that use GBDXTools.
